Is it critical that fire protection systems have surge protection on all electrical fire protection equipment and appliances? Is surge protection real or just an illusion? Why, or why not?

I think it is a definite need to have a surge protection unit available for your fir protection unit. There is a huge misconception that these units are only needed during a storm but you must look at everything that uses power and can cause a surge. Large HVAC units and anything that may cause a shift in power when starting up or shutting down may cause a power surge but I’m sure that most of these go unnoticed We are just use to seeing our tv’s go off any normal home appliances. A surge protection system is designed to handle all of these things to keep our systems available for use when needed. he protection is definitely real and is very needed,
