1. Write a 2 page paper on potential career choices and your goals for the future (Questions 1, 2 & 3):
What are some careers that interest you? List two.
Research those careers and the salaries. Also take into consideration work conditions (indoors, outdoors, long hours, stress etc.)
Write this out and also what is needed for that career – years of school, degrees, certifications, internships etc.
Cite your references.
What are some ways you can find out more about these careers? List two actions you can take.
2. Give some thought to where you see yourself in the future.
a. Where you see yourself in 3-5 years (living, working, lifestyle etc)
b. Where you see yourself in 5-15 years (ditto above)
c. Where you see yourself in 15-30 years(ditto above)
d. Do your career ideas support your desired lifestyles? If not how can you adjust that?
3. Now formalize this and write out three sets of goals for yourself:
a. Short term (1-5 years) – financial, career and lifestyle
b. Intermediate term (5-10 years) -ditto
c. Long term (10 – 70 years) -ditto above
