Social Media in Your Agency
As the public information officer (PIO) for your local emergency medicalservices (EMS) agency, you have been asked by your chief administrator toresearch the legal and regulatory aspects for creating a social media policyand to prepare a report.
Part 1: Start by researching the legal and regulatorystandards for a social media policy, and write a one-page summary of yourfindings. As part of your summary, include how following the legal andregulatory standards can help create a positive image of the organization.Include a minimum of two sources within your summary.
Part 2: Then, write a social media policy for your agency.Your policy should include the following elements:
purpose,
legal standards,
guidelines or best practices,
examples of acceptable versus unacceptable practices, and
consequences for inappropriate social media use.
