I believe that the current concerns with vaccination compliance is going to have a significant impact on public health both locally and internationally. It is very easy to travel aboard and within the United States this can easy cause a rapid spread of disease. This spread of disease will affect our communities locally and aboard. Community health nurses have a responsibility to help educate the public on the importance of vaccinations. They also need to discuss the safety and efficacy of vaccinations. The public is demanding more and more research to show the safety and we need to help to provide those. One way that I can implement population health in my community is to encourage smoking cessation. There numerous free resources available people just need to know they exist. Providing addition education on the long term effects of smoking with also be beneficial.
