1. Introduction: In this section, identify/describe the case/ forensic problem to
be solved (the link above). Include a rationale for why the problem is of interest and relevance to this forensic science
course. Include why you’re interested in this case (maybe because an important process is explained through it, or you’re interested in blood spatter? etc.)
2. Science and Methods Used: This is where the research comes in. Explain the science and the methods used in solving the case i.e. the analysis of evidence and the scientific tools and concepts discussed. Then evaluate the methods discussed (i.e. Are/Were the results accurate and adequate? What are/were the limitations?)

3. Societal Impacts and Legal Ramifications.
i.e.:
remaining child doesn’t have siblings
why the murder was done (she was depressed, they were behind on their mortgage, etc.)
address the death penalty
4. Conclusion: students are expected to synthesize the material and summarize the case
covering the Science and Societal Impact.
5. Bibliography: 1 page. Number the references.
