Week 4 Assignment: Write an In-depth Theory Applicatio
For this assignment, you must research a theory and write a theory application that examines the theory within an area of technology.
Using the NCU library, research a theory selected from the following list:
Complexity Theory
Structuration Theory
Game Theory
Systems Theory
Group Theory
Chaos Theory
Network Theory
Modernization Theory
Technology Acceptance Model
Socio-technology Theory
Actor-network Theory
Diffusion of Innovations
Use your area of specialization to choose an area of interest and a common problem regarding technology. For example, your specialization might be Information Systems. Your area of interest might be software development. Your problem might be “challenges in quality assurance testing”.
Write an 8-10 page theory application in which you include the following:
Present the concepts behind the theory you selected, including how the theory has developed or changed over time.
Indicate how the theory was used in at least five recent peer-reviewed journal articles within your area of interest (i.e., Software Development)
Explain the concepts around the problem you selected within your area of interest (i.e., what are the challenges in quality assurance testing?).
Apply the theory to your area of interest and explain how it applies to your issue or problem area.
Create a 5-7 slide PowerPoint presentation based on your paper for students who have not yet taken this course. Your presentation must contain the following:
Appropriate animations, transitions, and graphics
Speaker notes for each slide to assist with the delivery of the presentation.
Citations for quotations and paraphrases with references in APA format, where appropriate.
The completed assignment should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic.
