I can certainly see both sides of this argument. When I was hired by the hospital years ago, we signed an agreement acknowledging that our social media outlets would be monitored. We were also made aware that there would be serious implications if any slanderous or derogatory information regarding the hospital or hospital employees was found on our social media. I remember initially being put off by this agreement. However, I soon realized that any negative comments regarding any company on social media can affect their profitability. One satisfied patient or employee may tell approximately 1-2 people that they are happy, but one dissatisfied patient or employee will likely tell 25-50 other people all the negative aspects of their experience.
