Construct an Individual Thinking Map
Consider the reasons some students are unsuccessful in traditional schools. If you could create a new innovative alternative education school or program, what would it look like? What setting or delivery model would you use? What would the students need the most? Working with your group this week, you will create a thinking map of the new innovative alternative education school or program.
In preparation for the group assignment due Saturday, post your own individual thinking map to your group’s thread on the Discussion Board. You will need to:
Select a setting, type, and delivery model for your alternative education school or program.
Develop a thinking map that outlines the need for an alternative education school or program by addressing the following for your selected school or program:
Provide the following information on your thinking map.
Why is the alternative education school or program being designed and constructed?
Who will be affected by the new innovative alternative education school or program?
What are the goals of the alternative education school or program?
How does this model compare to any other model of similarity?
What evidence supports this as a great model to have?
After you have posted your own thinking map, review and comment on your group mates’ thinking maps. For Saturday, your group will create one synthesized thinking map and write an accompanying two-page paper, both of which your Week 1 project manager will submit on behalf of your group.
Note: While this is a non-graded discussion board, your active participation is expected as an important as part of the development process for your group project.
Support your statements with evidence from the Required Studies and other research. Cite and reference your sources in APA style.
