PART ONE: (ONE SCENE MINIMUM; NO MORE THAN TWO)
take one substantive scene (use two scenes if they are brief) from one of the shortstories we read in this course and rewrite it as fanfic.
PART TWO: (MINIMUM 800 WORDS)
In the analysis section of your essay, your main objective is to analyze how the changes youmade in your fanfic transform the original scene(s) and create a new meaning for thatpassage.Your literary analysis must have a thesis-driven argument that takes a stand on yourinterpretation. Think about how and why the changes you made to the original story resultedin a reshaping of a key theme from the story.
PART THREE: (MINIMUM 250 WORDS)
at the end of your analysis, please write your answers to the following two questions:
1. What surprised you most about “creating” a text? What did this exercise in creativewriting teach you about what is required to write a short story?
2. Describe the challenges you faced in writing a literary analysis of your own creativework. Identify two writing strategies you used to overcome these challenges andexplain how and why they proved helpful.
