Noticing to what extent Red relates to the traditional gender roles of the three original stories and explanation
In the first section of your observation, explain how you see Red “fitting in” with the other versions of Red that we know. Choose three important areas to notice and explain. Questions you might ask yourself are related to the character traits the class has uncovered and discussed–to what extent does she follow or not follow those traits? Remember, to what extent is an academic way of saying “how much”: how much does she follow the gender role traits of the original story or stories?

In this final section of the observation, comment on what you think the ending of the story means. Write as much as you can and support your initial interpretation as best you can.

Noticing to what extent Beauty relates to the traditional gender roles of her character in the original “Beauty and the Beast” and explanation
In the first section of your observation, explain how you see Beauty “fitting in” with the other version of Beauty that we know (refresh your memory however you like, if you need–I have linked the most popular, shorter, close-to-original story by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont in 1756).
