The Research paper will be written using the APA style with at least ten (10) References on the Residency weekend to do your research and complete the Research paper.
Students will be assigned to a group to conduct the Research. The group will work together to find research materials and develop the research paper and presentation.
Possible topics will be presented at the 1st class session of the residency and teams will begin research immediately to ensure papers can be completed before the end of the Residency weekend. During the last class session, each group will make an oral presentation, with appropriate visual aids, of their research.
For your paper, you will imagine that you have been hired as a business intelligence consultant for Big Data Company, where you will be assessing the needs for a business intelligence (BI) and a decision support systems (DSS) solution to solve a business problem. You will:

Identify a targeted business problem that can be supported by analytics, decision support systems (DSS) and business intelligence (BI) application.
Write a Business Intelligence document that uses BI, analytics, and decision support to solve a problem.
Provide an overview of a business intelligence system you propose to implement based on a problem of your choosing.

Your audience for this presentation will be senior executives for the company who will decide whether to sponsor and support the project.
