Simplified Risk Analysis Process
The risk analysis process coordinates with the National Response Framework (NRF) and National Incident Management System (NIMS) for effective preparedness and response to a risk. Every community should complete the risk analysis process to identify the hazards that presents risks and assess the probability, vulnerability, and consequences of the risk (Norman, 2016). If the hazard causes a disaster of large magnitude that requires federal assistance, the community will have already identified required resources and assistance required from the federal government under the National Response Framework (NRF).
Using the simplified Risk Analysis Process on page 200 of the textbook (Risk = (Probability + Vulnerability + Consequences) / 3), what are some of the hazards that your community potentially faces that would require federal assistance under the NRF?
