Choose a topic through the library database CQ Researcher*. In addition to skimming the overall database topic, look closely at the section entitled “Pros and Cons.” Write a three paragraph mini-essay in which you argue for one side of the topic that you choose. You must include the opposing viewpoint. Follow the format/ instructions: One paragraph laying out the argument that you are making, one paragraph acknowledging the opposing viewpoint (with the appropriate transition), and one paragraph returning to your viewpoint, showing why it is still the more valid point of view (with the appropriate transition).
