PLEASE MAKE SURE THIS IS AN A+ PAPER AND NO PLAGIARISM!
SOCS340
Assignment 2/Study Proposal
General Directions:
You will be preparing a Study Proposal following the template with components provided. Follow the template and pay close attention to the directional language under each component as well as the comments I provide. These directions, comments, and chapter/page references to your text should give you a good base to use for completion of this assignment.
Your paper should be 2-3 pages in length and include:

Completion of the provided pre-proposal worksheet (attach as a separate document). This worksheet is ungraded but will provide you a mechanism to gather your thoughts.
The use of Times New Roman 12 as the font with Double Spacing.
1-2 paragraphs for each component.
The use of the text AND at least three outside resources with a goal of one citation per component (note: you should list all of these as your references as appropriate).
Write in a scholarly tone using 3rd person (writing such as “the researcher’s goal is”).
Write in present tense since this is a proposal (writing such as “is” and “will be”).

–––––––––––
When you complete your 2-3-page paper make sure to do the following before submitting:

Cross check to these directions.
Make sure the directions/comments are removed and it is “clean” with only YOUR work.

How to do this?

Remove all the directional comments under each component.
Under the “Review” tab select “Delete” and then “Delete All Comments”.

Read it! Is it in 3rd person, present tense, and void of grammatical and spelling errors?

Use spell check and a grammar checker (such as Grammarly).

Scrub out the “I” s as appropriate

How to do this?

Manually or you can use CTRL F and search for whole words/match case.

Is the paper in good “form and style” and orderly?
Are your citations in place and references in proper format?

Use APA format. You can always Google search for your reference and find the proper citation and reference format to use.

Once complete, submit the proposal as a Word document (along with the separate Worksheet as a Word document so I can see your thought process).

Writing a Proposal; a Two-Step Process

1st Step: Organizing your thought process (this Worksheet will help).

Your first task it to really think about what TOPIC interests you. What do you want to know more about?
The first step of the proposal is preparatory work by answering five questions that in journalism are referred to as the 5Ws: Who, What, Where, When, and Why. By thinking about these, and filling in short answers, you are helping to better clarify your research questions and process. For instance, in the Who box you need to think about who your sample is going to consist of.

Question

My Answer

Who
Who are the people you want (and can realistically access) to perform this study on? How old are they? What culture, gender, and socio-economic status do they fall within?

What
What are you going to do with these people? How will you assess what it is you want to know with your sample? (Questionnaire, Interview, a Test, etc.)

Where
Where are you going to gather the information from? What organization can you go through? In other words, where do you go to access your sample and data?

When
When are you going to collect the information? Think about school holidays or the length of time needed to implement an experiment during the semester, etc. Also think about when the sample is accessible during the day or evening as you may need.

Why
Now state why on earth this research is important in the big picture! Think about how it adds to the literature, how it builds scientific knowledge, and why anyone should care about reading it.

2nd Step:Writing the Proposal (see provided template).
